About Us

We are Kofu Medical, a team of passionate specialists who want to improve medical treatment quality all over the world.

I’d like to share the story of the launch of Kofu Medical. Our representative, Kohei, has dedicated his career to providing medical care in conflict areas as a surgeon. Due to the absence of a trainer at his site, Kohei had to rely on books and digital resources like King’s Primary Surgery and the AO Foundation Surgical Reference. He also received essential insights from his colleagues. Kohei believes that the lack of trainers is a significant issue in training medical personnel.

In such challenging environments, medical care requires creativity and resourcefulness. There are long-established treatments that have stood the test of time. Moving forward, Kohei believes that IT and AI will become invaluable tools in our arsenal, and sooner or later, much of the training role will be replaced by AI.

War injuries from firearms are different from traffic injuries. Although senior staff were not always unavailable, there were cases where we had none. On-the-job training has been the only option during the acute phase of care. We follow a simple yet effective approach: see, learn, think, apply.

However, outside the acute phase, there are numerous resources and remarkable technological advancements that can be leveraged in medical education and skills training.

Are we just waiting for someone or some organization to start something new or take on challenges? Why not create it ourselves?

Now, my friends and I are thinking about this mission together. We’ve decided to take it on ourselves.

[Vision]

In the field of medicine, issues will be resolved seamlessly without needing to fix them one by one manually. Training will be integrated into daily work, and knowledge will be shared in real-time. In society, the common understanding of medical care will be well-established, allowing even non-medical professionals to respond flexibly to initial lifesaving actions.

[Goal]

Our goal is to develop a safe and accurate initial response system for general medical care, not only in Japan but worldwide. This includes enhancing responsiveness, technology, and techniques through coaching and repeated training.

While it’s ideal for every medical professional to maintain high quality and for sufficient medical resources to be available, we must also consider how to maximize limited resources. We aim to cultivate medical personnel who can create and use alternative equipment effectively.

Voices from the field, understanding what is needed and what is lacking, and carrying out dissemination and support activities from a team management perspective beyond just medical skills.

  • A variety of people, knowledge, and worldviews.
  • The joy of discovering what you don’t know.
  • The excitement of transforming what you’ve learned into practical skills.
  • The satisfaction of improving the lives of beneficiaries with your knowledge and skills.

We hope to share all this and more with everyone through our works.
